I am a general & cardiac anesthesiologist taking care of patients from 1 to 100+ for all manner of surgeries and procedures. The most important use of “advanced” math in my field is for understanding the statistics and implications of medical studies and their application to specific patients and populations.

Elected Chief of the Medical Staff at St. Agnes Hospital for 2000-2021.

Graduated with a BS triple-major in mathematics, philosophy, and zoology. Then went on to receive MS (medical physics, 2000) and MD (2004) degrees from UW-Madison, followed by anesthesiology residency training at the University of Michigan.
