2022: Retired Computer Programmer/Systems Analyst
In 1964 I was one of only 3 female Math majors in my graduating class! My career began at JCPenney Catalog Division in Wauwatosa, where I was one of their first female Systems Analysts (software developers), programming mainframe computers, a new and very exciting field in the 1960’s. Later I founded a custom software company, writing and marketing attendance software for schools, although my interest was in computerizing the medical field. Soon after, I was a Senior Systems Analyst at Theda Clark and Waukesha Memorial Hospitals. The 1980’s were an exciting time to be computerizing hospitals! I’ve been retired for many years now, enjoying my grandmother duties. But I do have many fond memories of the UW Math department, Chadbourne Hall, the Union, football games and the State Street bars!
